In early 2013, we traveled to Costa Rica to search out great coffee to add to our Friend2Farmer lineup. Hacienda Rio Negro was established in 1955, making it one of the oldest farms in the growing region of Coto Brus.  The farm is mere miles from the border of Panama, which you can see from the top of the plantation.  Hacienda Rio Negro was the first Rain Forest Alliance coffee in Costa Rica and was Utz Kapeh certified in 2008.

Cupping Notes:

Clean, citrus brightness, with caramel, apricot, butter and tea rose notes.  Finishes very smooth with the lingering buttery flavor.
